As Town residents, we all share the responsibility to maintain our properties to keep the Town beautiful.  Below are some frequent questions and ways to address problem areas.

What is considered high grass?
Grass or weeds in excess of 24 inches tall are not permitted.  Rodents and pests often use high grass as a place to live and feed.  Please help protect the health and safety of your neighborhood by keeping your grass mowed.

What if I have questions, complaints, or concerns?
If you have any questions or complaints regarding these issues or other planning and zoning issues please contact the Planning Department at 704-896-2461.  We will do our best to answer your questions, address your concerns, and assist you in any way that we can.  Please remember that many neighborhoods have their own subdivision covenants to regulate these issues.  The Land Development Code and Code of Ordinances regulations supercede these covenants when the Town Code is more restrictive.  If your covenants are more restrictive than the Town Code, your covenants supercede Town Code - however, this is a civil matter and enforced by your Home Owners Asssociation (HOA) or other legal means.  The Town does not enforce or have a copy of subdivision covenants and restrictions.
