Downtown Block Plan
The Town of Cornelius has initiated a planning process with The Lawrence Group to develop a schematic design that will support redevelopment opportunities within the Town Center. During this process, Staff intends to develop a collective vision for land use, transportation improvements, economic development, and environmental protection within the study area based on community and property owner’s comments, technical expertise, and future expectations.

The plan was presented with the above options in a public workshop held on February 5, 2008. In addition, a follow-up meeting was held on February 13 with the property owners to discuss specific details of the plan and proposed NC 115 cross section. Currently the consultants are evaluating the feasibility of the plan to understand the absorption, in addition to, analysis of feasibility of NC 115. The Town Board should receive the plan for adoption by April/May.
