As stated in Chapter 5.14 of the Land Development Code, "the intent of the Transit District-Overlay is to produce compact areas of higher-density, mixed-use areas that define focal points throughout the community and unify surrounding neighborhoods within walking distance of a proposed transit station." Generally, the properties in a transit district are located within 1/4 mile of a transit station.
